The morning and afternoon sides of this curve still contain slight notches from the dormer, but the morning notch is partly caused by the neighbor's roof, because the sun rises quite far to the south. The afternoon notch is partly caused by the pine trees by the neighbor's garage, but the sun is far enough south that the maple tree is no longer a contributor. Most noticeable is that the flat-topping effect appears to have been eliminated, but now there is a differently-shaped notch caused by large pine trees in the neighbor's backyard (close to his house), which shade the west side of my roof from about 11:30am until 2pm.
